I have never been able to find a vacant site there on a 3-day weekend.

RE: Savannah GA campground recommendations? any?

If you are looking for a close in, convenient, cheap, with full connections but not fancy (grass parking) then try Flynn's Inn Camping Village. Oops. Wrong city. This is at Augusta.

RE: For the men & ladies… Men wearing kilts?

A work kilt might solve the age old problem of "plumber's butt". :)

RE: "Amateur" vs/ "Professional" RV'ers

I have learned to NEVER volunteer advice. Tell someone a known fact and they will often tell you are wrong just because they don't like the information. They don't want to hear anything that might inconvience them and the world works the way they decide to should. Now if someone ask a question then that is another matter, sometimes.

RE: Leopard savages Crocodile- Amazing pix

It must have been one really hungry leopard! There are wilderbeast in the back ground, it's strange that he went after the croc. Maybe the leopard was injured and could not run a wilderbeast down.

RE: Where can we go?

Garmin Nuvi 5000 for truckers and RV'ers - gives routes based upon weight limits and low clearances. Should get mine in two days just in time for my trip. Costco for $499.Doc, How is that new Garmin working out for you?

RE: golf cart plus toad??

If you can settle for a smaller cart the Cricket works well for me and can be carried on a Tilt-A-Rack behind my MH or Jeep and will even fit inside a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Have you seen the reviews on the Garmin Nuvi 5000 yet? The old discontinued Garmin StreetPilot 2720 still sounds like a better buy.

RE: Where can we go?

You might try the Motor Carriers Road Atlas . It will at least indicate big rig approved roads and list restrictions.

RE: Pull up to Fort Mountain State Park, GA

It's a pull but nothing like Black Rock Mountain and nothing you shouldn't be able to handle. I had no problems at all. It's one of my favorite campgrounds.

RE: Storage - Tires

I never tried parking on "nothing" but I do park on the sandy dirt in the back yard.

RE: Golf Carts in Fl State Parks

I would be careful about this information. I have been given conflicting information about this before from park employees and I can find no mention of it in the Florida Online Park Guide.

RE: Golf Carts in Fl State Parks

This is very good news. Not everyone can walk for blocks or miles to get around a park. Older campers have been discriminated against for years. I agree that there should be a minimum age restriction in cart usage for safety reasons. If someone wants to let their kids use carts than they should camp at Peace River Campground where every 5 year old is driving one.

RE: Why do toasters have a "one slice" slot?

It's really difficult to believe that no one could answer this question. Toasters that automatically lower and lift the toast have a wire lever in the "one slice" slot that gets pressed down when a slice of bread is placed in it. The lever then activates the lowering mechanism and turns on the toaster. If you just placed a single slice on bread in the other slot nothing would happen.
